Melody Gardot Deep within the corners of my mind

I have cleared out almost all of my posts Over the years. So much has changed since I had first started writing this blog. My household has multiplied, my past time enjoyments have changed, and I think what little time I had to write things down has now gone from some to pretty much non existent.

I have now reached 40 years of age. I hit this milestone without much of a melt down. I mean really, you are only as old as you feel. Still many years younger than my husband and always one less than my sista. So looking at it in those terms... cheep, cheep, I'm a spring chicken. Bring on the next 40 years. I am excited to become a grandma in the years to come.. hopefully not too soon.


I have children.  My eldest daughter is 21, my son is 17, three more girls ages 9, 7, and 2. Although my eldest daughter does not live at home, my house is always noisy and busy. Hectic chaos, but I wouldn't change it. So much love and passion in the house.

I am a Muslim Canadian convert. My husband is Palestinian. And no.. I did not convert to Islam for him nor after meeting him. I converted three years before I met him. No convert trophy wife :P

My non Muslim family and I have had ups and downs from my choices to live differently than what they know but ALHUMDULILAH we are still a loving family and very close.

I have a few addictions... tea, books, indie and r&b/soul music, black and white photography, Lavender, and my bed... ( I have much time with this addiction but I really have a love affair with my bed and pillow). My heart belongs to Turkey and one day Insha'Allah I will get to travel there.

So there you have it, a brief introduction to moi. Insha'Allah I plan on writing again. Sticking to it this time. My post will be Ramblings about my life, thoughts and likes. Welcome to the inside of my brain.......
